Fox International Channels has acquired rigths to M. Night Shyamalan’s event thriller series Wayward Pines.
The deal represents the first time FIC has agreed a deal to control all rights to a programme outside of the US.
FIC will be the exclusive first-window broadcaster of the Matt Dillon-starring show in 125 territories, and will control international content sales.
Upcoming Fox ten-partner Wayward Pines follows Dillon as a Secret Service agent who travels to small Idaho town to find a pair of missing federal agents.
FIC will employ the same day-and-date episode launch strategy that it has used for other series such as The Walking Dead and American Horror Story.
Simon Thomas, FIC’s London-based executive VP, content sales, will oversee international distribution deals.
