UK streaming service Blinkbox will offer consumers free episodes of US TV series in a marketing push it has dubbed ‘try TV on us’.

Blinkbox, which is owned by UK retailer Tesco, is an electronic sell through service but has inked deals with major US studios Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, Warner Bros. and HBO to offer a range of their titles for free from today until August 19.

The free sampling titles include Arrow (pictured), The Americans, The Following, The Wire, True Blood and Supernatural.

As well as the US content there will be one title from BBC Worldwide, I’m Alan Partridge.

Blinkbox CEO Michael Comish said: “There’s more choice than ever before thanks to services like ours and our insights told us that customers relished the opportunity to try TV before committing to purchase.”
