Amazon inks Under the Dome download deal

Subscribers to Amazon’s Prime Instant Video service can now buy and download the CBS hit drama Under the Dome four days after it is broadcast on the US network.

Amazon has inked an exclusive electronic sell through deal for series, which is based on the eponymous Stephen King novel and has just launched on CBS.

Amazon has exclusive streaming and download rights to the series, which will housed on the primevideoexclusives section of its service.

Launching on the network on June 24, the debut episode series won 13.1 million viewers, making it the most-watched summer premiere since the early 1990s. It has also performed well internationally, winning 1.2 million viewers for Australian free-to-air broadcaster Ten.

The series is produced by CBS Television Studios and Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television. It is distributed by CBS Studios International.
