Jennifer Lopez named CCO of Latino cable channel

Singer-come-actress Jennifer Lopez has been named chief creative officer of English-language Latino cable channel NuvoTV.

Lopez’s new role was unveiled at NuvoTV’s Upfront yesterday, during which the network also revealed programmes including The Jennifer Lopez Biography Special (working title), which will delve into her personal and professional life. She initially invested in the channel in September last year.

The new role will see her involved in programming and on-air decisions, plus will develop several projects.

NuvoTV was one of four minority-focused US cable channels Comcast Communications helped launch in 2011 as part of its takeover of NBCUniversal.

The network targets 18-49 English-speaking Latinos with a mix of original and acquired programming.
