MIPTV News: Ex-JFL exec behind Novovision Canada

Former Just For Laughs sales chief Nathalie Bourdon has hooked up with Novovision president François-Xavier Poirier to launch a new joint venture in Canada.

The two non-verbal comedy specialists are launching Novovision Canada at MIPTV, where it will be sharing a stand with Poirier’s Paris-based Novovision.

Besides Canadian comedy firm JFL, Bourdon was also president of Faremore Distribution, which had international rights to comedy series Lol.

“I am especially happy that Nathalie Bourdon agreed to create Novovision Canada with us,” said Poirier. “Nathalie has unrivaled expertise in non-verbal comedy programming. What’s more, through her company Faremore, she acquired a great deal of experience in the area of formats.

“The launch of Novovision Canada marks a new stage in the international development of Novovision, which has just celebrated 10 years of activity.”

“After the coproduction in 2012 of 170 episodes of PopCorn TV, Novovision had clearly shown its desire to reach the North American market,” said Bourdon. “A partnership then became the obvious thing to do, given that our ambitions and skills were converging in the same direction.”
