Oprah’s Lance interview delivers high ratings

Oprah Winfrey’s interview of disgraced cyclist was the second most-watched show ever on her cable network OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network.

There were 3.2 million viewers for the first instalment of the interview, Lance Armstrong: The Worldwide Exclusive , which was scheduled as a two-night event last Thursday and Friday.

That compares with 3.5 million for the best-ever rated show on OWN, an interview with the family of Whitney Houston last March.

OWN said that the show was its best-ever in terms of male viewers and for a week day show. It was also streamed on Oprah.com and on international Discovery channels.

OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network is a joint venture between WInfrey’s Harpo and Discovery Communications.
