RTL Hungary strikes Power deal

Hungarian broadcaster RTL has closed a volume deal with international producer and distributor Power at NATPE Budapest.

RTL Klub, which is owned by the eponymous pan European broadcasting group,  has bought a raft of miniseries and television movies including Treasure Island, Neverland, Blackout and Air Force One is Down.

The deal was struck by vice president, sales and acquisitions Steve Turney, the former Fox executive, who joined the company last September.

This follows the company’s landmark deal to sell 170 movies to Croatian broadcaster HRT in April. The Croatian network acquired titles including Prayers For Bobby, An Old Fashioned Thanksgiving, The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow and Robert Louis Stevenson’s Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde for its ten TV movie slots per week.

The deal comes during the second day of NATPE Budapest, the market formerly known as Discop.
