Entertainment Rights has cut a number of deals in Latin America. It has sold Basil Brush, Legend of Frosty, Peter Cottontail – The Movie and Casper Scare School to Cartoon Network, while the Disney Channel has picked up George of the Jungle.

Sony Pictures Television International is to sell gameshow format Power of 10 worldwide after it was picked up by US broadcaster CBS. The studio acquired the format rights to the show – which sees contestants try and gauge public opinion in a series of pop quiz questions – from producers Embassy Row.

Yahoo! launches production arm

Yahoo!7 has launched a production arm to create content for Australia’s online community. The company, which is joint venture between the online search company and Australian broadcaster Seven, has created Yahoo!7 Studios with production firm Projekta to produce short form content, particularly for its sports and entertainment portals

TV3 acquires Time Jam

Spanish broadcaster TV3 Catalunya has acquired sci-fi adventure cartoon Time Jam – Valerian and Laureline from French distributor Mediatoon International. The series, which is a mix of 2D and CGI animation, will also air on France 3 and Club RTL in Belgium.
