Ex-Endemol Shine North America exec DJ Nurre refutes misconduct allegations
DJ Nurre’s exit from Endemol Shine North America (ESNA) earlier this week came following an investigation into alleged misconduct, according to US reports.
Nurre, who had overseen unscripted at the Banijay-owned company for the past six years, exited several days ago, with Deadline now reporting that his departure came after an outside firm was hired to examine claims of alleged sexual harassment related to an incident during production and its aftermath.
“As per our policy, we do not share specifics about employees leaving the company,” a spokesperson for Endemol Shine North America told TBI when approached for comment.
Nurre’s attorney, Michael Weinsten, also issued a statement in which he said Nurre had been terminated “for allegedly violating company policy” and that: “To be 100% clear, he vehemently denies having engaged in harassment of anyone in any form at any time in his career.”
Nurre joined the company in 2018 under Sharon Levy, who now runs ESNA, where he was EVP of unscripted series, working on shows including MasterChef and Lego Masters. He had previously been at 3 Ball Entertainment as EVP of programming and development.
