Lucy van Beek unveils Tailfeather Productions with Netflix & Apple TV+ commissions

Natural history filmmaker Lucy van Beek has launched a new prodco, with commissions from Netflix and Apple TV+.

Tailfeather Productions is being unveiled ahead of the launch of two shows produced by Van Beek.

Alexander: The Making Of A God, which is being produced with Lion Television, will debut on Netflix next week, while Born To Be Wild is being coproduced with Offspring Films and will launch on Apple TV+.

Van Beek, who previously worked at BBC Studios, Lion TV and then led UK prodco Blakeway, has been behind shows including Britain From Above and David Attenborough’s Song Of The Earth for the BBC.

“My mission with Tailfeather is to use the latest research and technology combined with journalistic rigour and compelling storytelling to craft specialist factual experiences that will resonate with audiences,” she said.

“We want to unlock the past in new ways and to examine the natural world using the very best tools and latest research available to us.”
