Wanda

Apple TV+ has made its first German-language commission with a UFA Fiction dark comedy titled Where’s Wanda?.

The show tells the story of Dedo and Carlotta Klatt, who are desperate to locate their missing daughter months after her disappearance.

When the police fail to find her, they take matters into their own hands and discover that behind closed doors, none of their neighbours are who they pretend to be.

Heike Makatsch (Hilde), Axel Stein (The Vault) and Lea Drinda (The Gryphon) star, with Christian Ditter (How To Be Single) and Tobi Baumann (Faking Hitler) directing.

Flack‘s Oliver Lansley writes, with the series based on a story by Zoltan Spirandelli (Lulu), while Nataly Kudiabor (Arthur‘s Law) and Sebastian Werninger (The Physician) are among exec producers.

The show forms part of an expanding slate for Fremantle-owned UFA Fiction, which is also behind Diane Kruger-starring five-parter Marlene, a biopic of cinema icon Marlene Dietrich.
