Kids’ firm Wonderworld.Fun unveils initial slate & adds Emilie Pasquet for sales & co-production
Wonderworld.Fun, the newly launched LA-based animation production and distribution firm, has appointed Emilie Pasquet as VP of distribution & co-production and unveiled the first three titles on its slate.
The company was established last month by kids veteran Mevelyn Noriega, who serves as CEO, in partnership with Kintop Pictures, DNEG-owned ReDefine and Prime Focus Studios, to create, produce, and distribute animated content for global audiences.
Based in France, and joining the company with immediate effect, Pasquet will see head up international sales and work to grow the catalogue through acquisitions and co-productions together with Noriega.
Prior to Wonderworld.Fun, Pasquet has held roles at companies such as Studio RedFrog, Bejuba! Entertainment, Mondo TV, and BRB Internacional where she was responsible for overseeing the acquisitions, distribution, and co-productions of animated series.
The company will make its debut at this year’s Annecy 2023 with three new comedy, action, adventure CGI animations targeted at kids: Secret Agent Jack Stalwart, Walk Of Earth In Space! and Heroes In Training.
Based on the book series of the same name, Secret Agent: Jack Stalwart (formatted as two 14 x 30-minute seasons) is about an inexperienced but brave nine-year-old secret agent who travels the world solving mysteries, righting wrongs, while searching for his missing brother.
Walk Off The Earth In Space! (14 x 30-minutes) is an action-comedy that tells the tale of the band ‘Walk Off The Earth’ who are plucked mid-concert on to an alien world, where they must use emerging super powers along with their natural gifts as super-optimists and multi-instrumentalists to piece together their mission, catchup on 1,111 years of training, and navigate constant threats from a super villain named The Monodrone.
Heroes in Training (also formatted as two 14 x 30-minute seasons) is based on the books by Suzanne Williams about six Greek gods, learning their powers and discovering their destiny. Their adventures will take them from the underwater city of Atlantis to the depths of the Underworld to the towering fortress atop Mount Olympus
“It’s a great pleasure to welcome Emilie to the newly formed company. Emilie is a tremendously talented industry professional and with her long-established reputation, extensive expertise, and strategic mindset, she will play a pivotal role in shaping Wonderworld’s future and driving its growth and success,” said Noriega.
