Belgium’s VTM & Germany’s NTV pick up Quintus, Peninsula-funded US immigration docuseries

Beyond Borders

Belgian channel VTM and RTL Germany’s NTV have picked up a new docuseries that has been co-financed by Quintus Studios and Irish/US producer, Peninsula Television.

Beyond Borders (5 x 60 minutes) features exclusive access to US immigration frontline services ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and ERO (Enforcement and Removal Operations) as officers battled their own feelings around deporation and removals, while following orders.

The show will also play out across Quintus Studios’ Free Documentary channel in the US, UK, Australia, India, Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia, following the German firm’s strategy of using its AVOD channels and linear networks to get shows off the ground and provide longer term income.

“Quintus Originals is a great opportunity for entrepreneurial indie producers convinced of the potential of their productions and willing to invest in them alongside partners to move into production,” said Studios MD, Gerrit Kemming.

David Harvey, CEO of Peninsula Television, added that his prodco is working with Quintus to further develop the franchise. Adam Jacobs is executive producer for Quintus Studios.

Quintus’ channel portfolio claims more than seven million subscribers across digital platforms, with its YouTube channel brands including Free Documentary, FD Real and FD History reaching more than 200 million unique visitors annually.

It also owns and operates FAST channel Radical Docs, which is available on platforms including Rakuten TV and Samsung TV Plus.
