NBCU teases new Universal+ streamer for France

Universal+

Comcast-owned NBCUniversal has started paving the way for the launch of a new streaming platform in France. In a short teaser video on YouTube, it said that a new service called Universal+ will be coming soon in France.

No details were released on the date of launch or the pricing structure, but the likelihood is that it will resemble NBCU services in other markets. To date, the company has primarily operated via the Peacock and Sky brands. Sky, which has no meaningful presence in France, is also part of Comcast.

The only hint at possible content came in the video itself, which referenced NBCU brands such as 13th Street, SYFY, E! and DreamWorks. When the service arrives, it will face competition from Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, Paramount+ and a revamped Warner Bros Discovery service.
