108 Media proposes ‘Bridezillas’ & ‘Marriage Boot Camp’ for the Philippines

London & Singapore-based financier, producer and distributor 108 Media has acquired the rights to produce local adaptations of WEtv’s reality shows Bridezillas and spin-off Marriage Boot Camp for the Philippines, after striking a deal with DCD Rights.

Bridezillas is a September Films format following extreme brides, their anxious families, and their loved ones in the run-up to their wedding day. From disastrous dress fittings, smashed cakes and bridal party wars, cameras follow out-of-control brides as they plan the wedding of their dreams, doing whatever it takes to get it, no matter the consequences.

Marriage Boot Camp, meanwhile, originally hails from Thinkfactory Media, and sees real-life celebrity couples seeking help with struggling relationships. Couples on the brink of destruction work out their partnership issues during extreme relationship therapy and challenges and in the end must decide if their love is worth saving.

Bridezillas: Philippines will begin filming early next year, while Marriage Boot Camp: Philippines will shoot in mid-2023. Both will be 10-part seasons and will be overseen and executive produced by showrunner Jonathan Glazier (Asia’s Got Talent, AXN All-Stars) and 108 Media’s president, Justin Deimen.

Nicky Davies Williams, CEO, DCD Rights, said: “Working in partnership with 108 Media has made this deal possible and demonstrates the benefits of the growing synergy between our companies. We are sure viewers are going to be more than thrilled to have local versions of two of the most enduring multiple series reality format franchises head to The Philippines.”
