AMC & SBS Australia among global deals for StudioCanal dramas

Broadcasters including AMC Networks International and SBS Australia have acquired original dramas from French distributor StudioCanal.

Sci-fi thriller Infiniti, produced by Empreinte Digitale and Federation Entertainment Belgique, has been picked up by AMC Networks International, SBS in Australia Now Studio in Hong Kong, TV2 in Norway, Nova in Greece, Go3 in the Baltics, Hot in Israel and Telus for English-speaking Canada.

The 6 x 60-minute series blends together a sci-fi crime thriller with political intrigue and a classic love story woven through, that echoes the current global space race.

Period crime drama Paris Police 1900, a Tetra Media Fiction and AFPI production, has meanwhile been acquired by MHZ for the US & English-speaking Canada, Viasat World for Epic Drama across CEE, Baltics and CIS, RTSH for Albania, Prime Video for India, Cellcom for Israel, Cirkus across Scandinavia, COSMO for Spain and Vodafone Ziggo for the Netherlands.

The 8 x 60-minute series offers a modern and gritty representation of the -not so- Belle Epoque set in the frenetic streets of Paris in the early 20th Century.

Other deals include for comedy series La Flamme, produced by MakingProd and Entre 2 et 4, which has sold to Now Studio in Hong Kong, Radio Canada in French speaking Canada, Cellcom in Israel and RTP in Portugal.

UFOs (aka OVNI(s)), from Montebello Productions, has been picked up by MHZ for the US & English-speaking Canada, TV5 for French-speaking Canada, AMC Networks International for Latin America & Brazil and Filmin for Spain & Portugal.

Spiral (aka Engrenages), a Son et Lumière production, has sold to AMC Networks International in Spain, Europa+ in Mexico, as well as to C-More for Scandinavia and M7 Channels for Hungary & Romania.
