Fox AVOD Tubi makes first originals renewal & plans 100 new titles by 2023

The Freak Brothers

Fox-owned AVOD service Tubi is doubling down on original programming, with a pledge to debut more than 100 new titles in the next 12 months, and has also made its first ever series renewal.

The streamer has commissioned as-yet-unnannoucned animation from Bento Box Entertainment and MarVista Entertainment, as well docs and specials from Fox Alternative Entertainment and TMZ, as part of this content expansion.

It has also recommissioned adult animation The Freak Brothers for a second season of eight episodes, scheduled to air in December 2022. This marks the first time that Tubi has ever renewed one of its original shows.

The Freak Brothers is Tubi’s first-ever original animated series, based on Gilbert Shelton’s cult classic underground comic series, and produced by WTG Enterprises.

Tubi also plans to add dedicated FAST channels for The Masked Singer, TMZ and Gordon Ramsay as it seeks to expand its ad-supported lineup.

“Tubi’s approach of personalization allows for content for every community, and our record growth shows it’s working. We’re doubling down on this approach while delivering our brand partners transparency and an opportunity to reach incremental, diverse and highly engaged consumers,” said Mark Rotblat, CRO at Tubi.
