Sales Talk: Blue Ant International’s Solange Atwood on ‘unique’ factual & windowing strategies

Buyers, hungry for new content, are in the UK capital for meetings, presentations and drinks – or logging on from across the globe – for London TV Screenings all this week.

With so many new productions being showcased, TBI has been checking in with execs from international distributors of all sizes as they share the best new shows on their slates, along with the top trends to watch out for in 2022.

Detention Adventure

What’s your standout show for London TV Screenings and why?

Our standouts include the third season of scripted live-action hit Detention Adventure, documentaries such as Prince Charles’ Green Grand Design and The Ocean’s Greatest Feast and a new season of long running franchise See No Evil.

What show are you most looking forward to in 2022 (not including your own)?

I’m personally excited for the next season of Bridgerton.

What single distribution trend will define the next 12 months?

Distribution partners that are deeply connected with global relationships and are at the forefront of discussions with all buyers should be able to define and execute strategic windowing strategies that maximize returns for owners of intellectual property.

Three words to describe the global distribution industry right now are…

Full of opportunities!

Which country’s programming will boom this year & why?

My bet is on the US domestic market with the global expansion of so many services!

Rewind to this time in 2018. You have the same knowledge as you do now – what would be the first thing you’d do?

If I could turn back time, I’d have invested in more stories about unique people in unique worlds (we all still remember Tiger King!), comedy, travel documentaries, and just generally bought 10 times more from all of our great content partners!
