Endeavor joins C More & TV2 Norway’s reboot of Jo Nesbø’s ‘Headhunters’

Headhunters

Banijay-owned Yellow Bird has started production on a TV version of 2011 film Headhunters, which is being produced for Sweden’s C More and TV2 in Norway.

The dark corporate thriller is based on Jo Nesbø’s novel of the same name and has been inspired by the subsequent feature film, which has become a cult hit.

Endeavor Content has joined the series as distributor outside of the Nordics, with C More and TV2 coproducing the show, which is set in 2002 and will debut in 2022.

The series stars Axel Bøyum (Betrayed) and Martin Wallström (Mr. Robot), with Geir Henning Hopeland serving as director and co-writing the screenplay with Rolf-Magne G. Andersen.

Yellow Bird’s Norwegian label has started filming on the show, which follows a headhunter whose lying and manipulation leads to him becoming a danger to both himself and the people around him.

Hopland said: “When I was asked if I wanted to create a TV series of Headhunters, I started off by reading the novel again. I was struck by the two-three pages where Roger meets Diana in London and that was when the idea was born to have the series set in 2002.

Headhunters will be a series in true Jo Nesbø spirit – a fast-paced mix of dark humour and thrills.”

Gudny Hummelvoll for Yellowbird Norway is producing together with Eleonore Anselme and Alexia af Kleen. Piodor Gustafsson is executive producer at C More.
