UK’s C4 extends deal for ‘Bake Off’ and spin-offs until 2024

The Great British Bake-Off

Channel 4 (C4) will remain home of The Great British Bake Off for a further three years, after the UK broadcaster struck a deal for the Love Productions show.

It means the UK version of the format will remain on C4 until 2024, with the deal also including fellow Love shows Bake Off: An Extra Slice, Junior Bake Off, Bake Off: The Professionals, The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer and The Great Pottery Throw Down.

C4 has been home to the baking show since 2016, when it poached rights to the format from the BBC in a deal then valued at around £25m ($33m) a year.

The format is sold around the world (excluding North America) by BBC Studios, which has rights until 2028.

Richard McKerrow, CEO at Sky-owned Love Productions, said the prodco’s “long-term commitment with Channel 4 illustrates a deep, warm, mutual respect and partnership which enables us to bring Bake Off to the widest audience possible.”
