Former UKTV acquisitions boss Emma Sparks lands at Loud Productions

Emma Sparks

UK-and-Ibiza-based production company Loud Productions has appointed former UKTV exec Emma Sparks as partner and managing director as part of a management rejig.

Sparks will assume responsibility for all commercial activities, managing relationships and strategic partnerships for commissions and co-productions, as well as taking joint responsibility for editorial development.

Company founder Emily Chapman will meanwhile continue to manage editorial development and oversee all production.

Sparks served as head of acquisitions at UKTV, where she was responsible for the linear and non-linear acquisitions strategy, managing relationships with US Studios, international co-production, and leading the acquisitions team. She was also a member of the UKTV editorial board.

Chapman set up the company in 2012 as Loud Monkey, producing branded online series for clients such as Cisco and Climate Focus Group. It has since rebranded as Loud Productions to further encompass the 91 Productions label.

It currently has several scripted and unscripted projects in development, including factual projects like 3 x 60-minute docuseries Surviving Social Media and 6 x 60-minute Black Market, about the famous Soho record shop, and 12 x 60-minute crime drama Rules Of The Game, set in “the dark, corrupt world of global football.”

“I am delighted to have Emma join the company,” said Chapman. “We have worked together to rebrand as Loud Productions and we are excited to now bring our incredible slate of projects to the market.”
