CBS Reality makes double order for Polish true crime originals

Inspector Biskupska’s Crime Files

UK-based fact-ent channel CBS Reality has commissioned two locally produced original true crime series in Poland.

The 5 x 60-minute Criminal Investigations In Communist Poland was created by Olga Siama of Blueberry Media and features archive footage and interviews with renowned experts alongside police officers who personally worked on the cases presented during the country’s communist era, often with extremely limited resources.

Meanwhile, CBS Reality has also ordered a second season of Inspector Biskupska’s Crime Files. Produced by ATM Grupa, the 5 x 60-minute series will see the long-serving Polish police officer guide viewers through more shocking criminal cases by interviewing her former colleagues and visiting the scenes of the crimes, while also providing her own insight and expertise on the investigations.

CBS Reality is a joint venture between AMC Networks International – UK and ViacomCBS Networks International that broadcasts in the UK, Middle East and Africa.

Its previous Polish original productions include The Profiler and DNA Of Polish Crimes, as well as the two-part documentary Children Of Sister Bernadette and season one of Inspector Biskupska’s Crime Files.

Sam Rowden, executive producer for CBS Reality and VP of content and production at AMC Networks International UK said that the originals represent “an important milestone in the rollout of CBS Reality’s local original strategy in Poland.”
