Former Cineflix Media exec Julien Leroux has made the first hire for his new firm Paper Entertainment.

Caroline Amer is joining as development executive and will work with Leroux on developing new dramas to sit alongside other projects, including the second season of Apple TV+ series Tehran, which is going into production this summer.

Caroline Amer

Amer previously co-founded UK prodco Double Yay, having started out as an actor and internationally award-winning burlesque performer before she began producing. She has since developed drama and comedy projects including the Berlin-shortlisted short film She and digital series Nutritiously Nicola!.

London-based producer paper was formally launched earlier this year and is focusing on developing, financing and producing TV content in partnership with talent and producers around the world. Leroux was most recently SVP of global scripted co-productions at Cineflix Media and before that held roles at the UK arm of France’s Newen Group.

“Caroline’s experience and creative force will help drive our growing slate as we build on the success of Tehran and other projects in the pipeline,” he said. Amer added: “I could not be more excited to join Paper Entertainment and work together with Julien to develop thriving partnerships with top creative talent from around the world.”
