Walter Presents strikes ZDFE deal to bolster Aussie streamer Stan’s offering

Drama streamer Walter Presents has picked up a raft of shows from Germany’s ZDF Enterprises for its offering in Australia.

The pick-ups – which include Grow and Standing Tall – follow Walter Presents’ recent programming deal with Aussie streamer Stan, which handed the Nine Entertainment-owned service first-run and exclusive access to shows from the global drama service.

Thriller Grow – about two brothers on colliding paths in life – was produced by SF Studios Productions and Rocket Road Pictures for TV2 in Denmark, while Standing Tall – which follows a former policeman’s unofficial investigation into his son’s alleged suicide – was produced by Publispei for Rai Italy.

Other series headed to Stan via Walter Presents include Stockholm-based drama Top Dog, coming-of-age pandemic thriller Sløborn, Film.UA’s crime noir Hide And Seek, and Belgian family series Beyond Appearances. As per the Walter Presents deal, the shows will be available on Stan as first-runs and exclusive.

Last year, Walter Presents unveiled a three-year deal for almost 30 hours of programming from Discovery-owned Polish broadcaster TVN and agreed a programming deal with Russian SVOD Start.
