I Can See Your Voice

Fox & Mnet both reorder ‘I Can See Your Voice’;

US network Fox has renewed music mystery series I Can See Your Voice for a second season, while the CJ ENM-created format has also been picked back up for an eighth run on Mnet in Korea.

The US series will once again see Ken Jeong return to host and executive produce, while the Korean version has confirmed singer and actor Rain as its first guest.

I Can See Your Voice is such a deeply fun and genuinely suspenseful show, with the amazing Ken Jeong at the heart of it,” commented Rob Wade, president of alternative entertainment & specials at Fox Entertainment. “We are so grateful to our producers, James McKinlay and Craig Plestis, along with the entire crew, who brought this show to life and are working to make season two even bigger and better.”

The format is also set to debut in several new countries in Europe this year, headed to BBC One in the UK, while Spain, Russia and Finland have also commissioned the show for this year.

“2021 just got better for I Can See Your Voice with season two confirmed on Fox. With both executive producer Lee Seon-young and host Ken Jeong returning, we are very excited for the second season to meet new audiences, and to rule out the good-singing hidden gems,” said Diane Min, head of format sales at CJ ENM. “With its uniqueness and hilarious twists, I am sure that new versions in UK, Spain, Russia and Finland will also meet our high expectations this year.”

TBS dishes out ITV kitchen sabotage format

Warnermedia-owned network TBS has greenlit Rat In The Kitchen, a new food format from ITV that sees an undercover chef tasked with sabotaging their fellow contestants’ efforts.

Produced for TBS by ITV America’s Thinkfactory Media, the format was devised by Glenn Hugill and his UK-based prodco Possessed, part of ITV Studios.

The TBS series will be hosted by comedian Natasha Leggero and judged by celebrity chef Ludo Lefebvre as a 10-part series in which six chefs battle it out in the kitchen, but only one seeks to ruin their dishes to win a cash prize.

Rat In The Kitchen is by far one of the most clever formats we’ve ever heard,” said Corie Henson, EVP/Head of Unscripted Development, TNT, TBS, truTV. “It combines innovative cooking and everything you love about your favorite food shows, with a healthy serving of classic true crime whodunnit.  Plus, Natasha and Ludo are the perfect recipe for a good time.”
