Endemol Shine expands AVOD offering in US with Vizio deal

US-based TV manufacturer Vizio has struck a deal that will see Endemol Shine Group-curated online channels becoming available via its ad-supported on-demand service.

More than 600 episodes will become available on Vizio’s ad-supported SmartCast streaming service across the US, including renovation series Restoration Man and the American version of Deal Or No Deal.

Shows will  roll-out offers free 24-hour streaming channels and more than 600 episodes of entertainment favorites for audiences searching for “comfort food TV.” Users can find these channels under the Free Channels section on the VIZIO SmartCast Home™ screen:

The deal will see a Deal Or No Deal channel become available, offering the US version of the hit gameshow hosted by Howie Mandel, while a Wipeout channel will offer the UK and Australian versions of the format, along with The Almost Impossible Gameshow UK.

A DIY Daily channels includes access to DIY and garden shows such as Restoration Home and Build A New Life In The Country, while the Reel Truth Crime channel will offer true crime documentaries including Crime Investigation Australia, Missing Persons Unit and Without A Trace.

It’s the latest AVOD move for ESG, which recently launched shows including Peaky Blinders via online ad-supported services in the US and across Europe.

Kasia Jablonska, head of digital distribution and monetization at ESG, said the agreement “provides an ideal platform to reach millions of consumers with entertainment they crave, and demonstrates our continued commitment to contributing to the future of TV.”

Katherine Pond, VP of business development for Vizio, added that the deal would “bolster our thriving free ad-supported TV content that people can enjoy out-of-the-box.”
