Online distribution service TRX goes free during Covid-19

Sky drama Riviera is available via TRX

Online TV rights marketplace TRX is offering its service for free for all users during the Coronavirus pandemic.

With trade fairs and markets cancelled across the globe, face-to-face meetings have become a near-impossibility for buyers and distributors.

TRX joins other content platforms such as ProgramBuyer and ONE Lite to have gone free in recent days to help support rights owners and buyers.

Matthew Frank, the service’s CEO, said: “TRX is the perfect online tool for buyers and sellers of TV rights and has never been more relevant.

“With much of the world in shut down for the next few months, we’ve decided to make our service free of charge to everyone for the duration of the crisis. With MIPTV and other markets cancelled we can offer sellers the opportunity to showcase their new programming slate to buyers.

“Already we’ve seen a significant increase in activity on the platform and more buyers are signing up every day.”
