Kew Media Distribution promotes for new SVP acquisitions role

Graham Begg

Kew Media Distribution (KMD) has appointed Graham Begg to the newly created position of SVP acquisitions and business development.

Begg will oversee acquisition opportunities across scripted, non-scripted, documentary and factual entertainment properties, as well as advising on corporate activities and business development initiatives.

He will continue to work closely with Kew Media Group’s 13 production companies on collaboration opportunities with KMD, with a remit to further exploit their IP globally.

Begg joined KMD in 2018 as VP of business development and producer relations. Prior to that, the exec established GB Media & Entertainment Consultants to provide consultancy, advisory, business affairs and executive producer services to the entertainment industry.

Before that, he served as head of film finance at Content Media Corporation, which rebranded as Kew Media Distribution following its acquisition in 2017. Its slate includes movie Susan Hill’s The Small Hand: A Ghost Story, Line Of Duty and BBC One’s reboot of Worzel Gummidge.

Greg Phillips, president of KMD, said: “Since his appointment last year, Graham has been instrumental in securing several major projects and deals for us including BBC’s Worzel Gummidge, which was so well-received at Mipcom, and a multi-year distribution agreement with leading LA-based media company Participant. He’s the ideal executive to propel our acquisitions strategy forward and to build new partnerships for KMD”.

Begg added: ”After what has been an extremely productive and rewarding year, I look forward to expanding my contribution to the company and continuing to build on the amazing work of the KMD team across business development, sales, and creative partnerships.”
