ITV rejigs daytime team with commissioners Clare Ely and Jane Beacon departing

Emma Gormley

ITV in the UK has rejigged its daytime commissioning team, with Clare Ely and Jane Beacon leaving the company and two executives being promoted.

Emma Gormley becomes MD of ITV daytime and will oversee production of the channel’s morning programming, having most recently been MD of ITV Daytime for the broadcaster’s studio division.

Gormley reports to ITV Studios boss Julian Bellamy and will also work with ITV’s director of television Kevin Lygo. Meanwhile, head of entertainment Katie Rawcliffe will now oversee commissioning for ITV’s afternoon and weekend morning slots.

The appointments come ahead of the exit of joint daytime chiefs Ely and Beacon, who have been in the role since 2018. Their next moves are not yet known.

Rawcliffe said: “The afternoons and weekend mornings are a key part of ITV’s schedule and are all currently in great shape. To consolidate entertainment and daytime entertainment makes complete sense and it will be a privilege to work with the best talent and producers across the shows.”
