Upfronts 2019: The renewals

There’s been a string of series renewals by the big four networks and The CW ahead of and during this week’s Upfronts.

Shows earning all-important second seasons include NBC’s New Amsterdam; ABC’s A Million Little Things, Schooled, Single Parents, The Conners and The Rookie; CBS’s God Friended Me, Magnum P.I. and The Neighborhood; and The CW’s All American, Burden of Truth, Charmed, In The Dark, Legacies and The Outpost.

Meanwhile Law & Order: SVU is returning to NBC for its 21st season – making it the longest running prime-time drama in the US, breaking the record held by Law & Order and CBS’s Gunsmoke.

Law & Order: SVU producer Dick Wolf has also had his Windy City series – Chicago Fire, Chicago Med and Chicago PD – all renewed again for NBC. Another Dick Wolf procedural, FBI, has also been renewed for a second season by CBS.
