Turner LatAm & MediaPro prep football drama as part of 5-year pact

Turner Latin America and Mediapro are set for their first drama, football title Las Baravas F.C., to come out of a five-year global agreement develop content in LatAm.

The deal saw the two companies promise and overall investment of US$10m to develop cross-platform content last January. It will include occasional collaborations with Chilevisión in Chile.

Las Bravas F.C., a 8×45-minute title, is about overcoming difficulties, the importance of one’s roots, and teamwork. The story is seen through the eyes of a female football team, Las Bravas, who dream of winning the regional championship; and also through the eyes of Roberto Velarde, a former world-class Mexican football player, who was forced into retirement because of a heart condition.

The title is based on an original idea by Flipy, who will be joined by a team of well-known screenwriters such as José Javier Reguilón (Vis a Vis) Luis Gamboa (Diablero) and Paula Rendón (Julia VS. Julia).

“Las Bravas F.C. is the first of many projects we will develop along with Mediapro, as part of a strategic alliance established last year.
