Content Innovation Awards 2018: CBS & Endemol Shine win big

The fourth annual Content Innovation Awards saw CBS Television Studios, AMC Networks International and Endemol Shine Group win big, bringing home awards for Best Debut Drama Series, Series Launch of the Year and more.

The event, held at the Carlton Hotel in Cannes, brought together 200 of the biggest names in TV content and technology to celebrate the savviest innovators in the industry.

Content winners included CBS hit Star Trek: Discovery, which won the award for Best Debut Drama Series, with CBS format Drop The Mic taking home the gong for Best Musical Format.

AMC’s The Terror won a joint award for Series Launch of the Year, along with the Caryn Mandabach Productions/Tiger Aspect Productions’ hit Peaky Blinders (season four).

Endemol Shine Group and its subsidiaries received a total of four awards for titles Masterchef, Family Food Fight and Peaky Blinders (season four).

Factual TV Project of the Year went to CPL Productions’ Old People’s Home for 4 Year Olds, while Best Digital Original went to Shaftesbury’s The Carmilla Movie.

The inaugural Contribution to Content Award went to Keshet Group’s Avi Nir, while the Lifetime Achievement Award was awarded to Twofour CEO Melanie Leach.
