French private equity firm invests in About Premium Content

French private equity firm Alliance Entreprendre (NATIXIS Groupe) has taken a minority stake in co-production and distribution firm About Premium Content (APC).

The investment will enable the boutique firm to accelerate its growth.

APC founders and managers Emmanuelle Guilbart and Laurent Boissel retain majority control of the company, while Nevision also maintains its minority stake in the business as a long-term financial and co-production partner.

APC is looking to expand its business into the development, financing and distribution of high-end TV shows across drama, kids and documentary.

The company’s strategy will be to co-produce more international drama and scripted series, and also grow its portfolio of English-language series.

The company’s drama slate currently includes series such as new Spanish-language drama from Movistar Studios Gigantes; Vox Pictures’ break-out English-language hit series Keeping Faith (pictured, left; S4C/BBC); Dutch-noir crime thriller Fenix (KPN) and returning Swedish crime thriller Alex (ViaPlay).

APC joint-CEO and co-founder Laurent Boissel said: “Our aim from inception has been to establish ourselves as a global independent, boutique company with the financial and creative capability of developing, financing and selling quality programming with international appeal. The completion of the new financial structure means we now have the resources to accelerate the execution of this strategy.”
