Netflix orders Korean original My First First Love

Netflix is adding another Korean original to its platform, this time the eight-part romance title My First First Love.

My First First Love will go into production this year and be available on Netflix globally in 2019.

It tells the story of college students and their experience of first love as they meet new friends.

The series will be written by Little Black Dress scribe Kim Min-seo. It is created by Jung Hyun-jung, who wrote Five Enough and Discovery of Love.

Oh Jin-seok, who directed Yong-pal and Goddess of Marriage, will be directing.

Jisoo, Jung Chae-yeon and Jinyoung will be the lead stars of the title. Jisoo is known for her appearance in Strong Girl Bong-soon and Jung Chae-yeon gained popularity through her appearance on Drinking Solo. Jinyoung is known for his role in Love in the Moonlight.

Netflix has invested in a host of Korean titles in the past year, ranging from scripted titles to stand-up specials, cartoons and comedies. Other Korean-language scripted investments include Love Alarm, Kingdom and A Korean Odyssey.
