Awesome hires Steventon for kids and adult drama role

Awesome Media & Entertainment, the creative content company founded by writer-producer Jeff Norton, has hired producer Jane Steventon to work on children’s and adult scripted content.

Steventon will be working directly with Norton on the company’s growing development slate of both original and adapted IP.

She joins with a wealth of experience having produced kids’ series The Story of Tracy Beaker and the film Tracy Beaker’s The Movie of Me, as well as producing popular UK dramas Hollyoaks, Later and Casualty.

On arrival, she will lead Awesome’s adaptation of literary novel The Last Wave together with ex-BBC Studios executive Fraser Robinson and develop TV adaptations of Awesome’s best-selling book series Princess Ponies and MetaWars. Norton said: “Jane’s knowledge of producing within the UK scripted landscape across kids and adult will be invaluable during this next stage of growth for Awesome.”

The appointment is Awesome’s first since taking investment from Kew Media Group. Steventon said: “I look forward to collaborating with partners in the international arena and can’t wait to get started.”
