Endemol Shine Group has licensed hit factual format Hunted to French broadcaster RMC Découverte.
Under the terms of the deal, Endemol Shine France will produce a 12 x 60 minutes primetime version of the show called Escape: 21 Jours pour Disparaitre.
The French version will TX in autumn. Lisa Perrin, Endemol Shine Group’s CEO of Creative Networks said: “Since its UK launch in 2015, Hunted has become one of our most widely travelled and creatively fresh formats with a concept that has remained at the heart of the global zeitgeist. We can’t wait to see what France does with the series and if a new group of fugitives will evade the hunters.”
In Hunted, ordinary people go on the run and attempt to evade capture for a designated period of time. With little cash and limited ability to contact their network of friends and family, they are pursued by a team of professional investigators including detectives, psychologists, and surveillance experts.
The show has also been adapted for the US, China, Russia, Spain, Denmark and the Netherlands, where a third series is about to go into production.
