AMC Int’l inks distribution deal with VR studio

AMC Networks International Southern Europe has made a deal with Rooftop Immersive Studio to aggregate and distribute VR content.

Rooftop will aggregate VR content on a monthly basis from a wide range of genres with a focus on documentaries and factual VR experiences for AMC’s factual brand Odisea/Odisseia.

Rooftop Content Group, the Amsterdam based international distribution and production company recently announced that it had undergone a major rebrand and launched two new subsidiaries, Rooftop Film & TV and Rooftop Immersive Studio.

“AMC Networks International Southern Europe is one of the most renowned and respected broadcasters of original programming and we are delighted to be partnering with them to offer VR to a wider audience.

“As VR becomes an increasingly important part of our business, this deal represents a new step in the company’s growth”, said Jordi Van Even, Rooftop Content Group’s founder.

AMC Networks International Southern Europe produces and distributes 24 pay-TV channels targeted to a wide range of audiences: Film and series (AMC, Canal Hollywood, SundanceTV, DARK, XTRM, Somos and Blast); factual (Odisea/Odisseia, Historia, Crime + Investigation and Blaze); lifestyle (Canal Cocina and Canal Decasa); music (Sol Música) and kids (Canal Panda and Biggs).

The distributor is headquartered in Madrid.
