Netflix orders Canadian drama Northern Rescue

Netflix has ordered CBC original drama Northern Rescue, and will have all rights outside of Canada.

The family drama will star William Baldwin (MacGyver) and Kathleen Robertson (Murder in the First).

It follows John West as he moves his three children away from a hectic urban life to a small northern hometown after the death of his wife Sarah.

The title is created by Mark Bacci (Between, pictured), producer David Cormican (Tokyo Trial) and writer Dwayne Hill.

A CBC and Netflix original production, Northern Rescue is produced by Don Carmody Television (DCTV).

Executive Producers are Don Carmody, Cormican, Bradley Walsh and Bacci, Baldwin and Hill. Walsh will also direct four episodes including the pilot.

Production begins June 2018 in Parry Sound, Ontario.
