Independent producer/distributor Banijay Group has unveiled a new partnership with SK TV, the production company owned by Bollywood star Salman Khan. The move will see the two companies join forces to create scripted and non-scripted content that will appeal to the Indian sub-continent and the South East Asian market.
Commenting, Deepak Dhar, founder and CEO of Banijay, said: “This is an extremely substantial partnership for us. I am really looking forward to creating ground-breaking content in television and digital that will build our presence in India and South East Asia.”
Salman Khan, who is also a successful producer, singer and TV personality, added: “This country is home to various talented people who don’t get a fair chance to prove themselves. We at SK TV not only aim to produce engaging content with partners like Banijay but also provide a platform to these young and budding individuals. The employment opportunities I can provide on the film front are limited because I am able to do only 1 or 2 films each year. However, SK TV has a broader base where we will be coming up with multiple shows across various genres hence generating better employment opportunities for these hidden talents who aspire to make it big.”
