Netflix continues to invest in sci-fi with new original

Netflix has ordered sci-fi drama Another Life, as it continues to commission titles in the genre.

The ten-episode series stars Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) as an astronaut on a mission to explore alien intelligence.

Niko Breckenridge (Sackhoff) leads a crew on a mission to explore the genesis of an alien artifact. As she and her young crew investigate, they face danger unimaginable danger on what might be a one-way mission.

The title hails from Halfire Entertainment, the producer of Netflix original Alias Grace (pictured).

Aaron Martin (Slasher) is the creator and showrunner and Noreen Halpern (Alias Grace, Rookie Blue) will executive produce.

Ampere revealed earlier this week that Netflix is commissioning more sci-fi and fantasy titles after the success of titles such as Stranger Things.

Ampere’s data revealed that 29% of all upcoming originals are sci-fi and fantasy – higher than any other genre.
