Episode one, season two of drama series Doctor Foster was the top performing show of September on the UK pubcaster’s VOD service with three million requests.
Episodes two, three and four of the same series accounted for the rest of the top four most-requested shows, with the four episodes shown in September notching up nine million requests in total.
Episodes one and three of new detective series Strike, which adapts JK Rowling’s two novels about detective Cormoran Strike, ranked at number five and number five respectively.
Meanwhile the rest of the top 10 most-requested shows was made up by episodes of BBC staples – long-running soap Eastenders and Saturday night entertainment show Strictly Come Dancing.
“Fantastic content has driven a strong September for BBC iPlayer,” said BBC controller of programming and daytime, Dan McGolpin.
“We’ve had the return of brilliant shows like Doctor Foster and Strictly joined by superb new series like Strike and Rellik, all of which has made for a great start to the autumn season.”
