The six-parter, billed as a comedy-thriller, comes from Peep Show co-creator Sam Bain and follows a man (Chris Geere) that kidnaps his ill friend (Tom Riley), who has decided to abandon traditional chemotherapy.
Lizzie Kaplan (Masters of Sex) plays alcoholic doctor, who then administers drugs to Riley’s character against his will.
The show comes from Fudge Park Productions, the prodco The Inbetweeners writers Damon Beesley and Iain Morris launched in August 2015 after exiting Banijay Group (then Zodiak Media Group).
BBC Worldwide is also attached, and sells the miniseries internationally.
It will launch on Showtime on November 13 in a 10.30pm slot, having debuted as a BBC iPlayer original in the UK as a three-part series before running on BBC Two.
Showtime recently debuted the finale season of its BBC comedy coproduction Episode, which sends up Hollywood and its television writing community.
