This comes soon after former Spike content chief Sharon Levy was hired as president of unscripted and scripted television at Endemol Shine North America, which houses Endemol Shine Studios
Hall had been president since January 2016, when she joined from The Expanse producer Alcon TV. She had also worked as head of drama at Sony Pictures Television on shows such as Breaking Bad and Justified.
She’ll now take a production role at Endemol Shine Studios, which is behind dramas such as Showtime’s I’m Dying Up Here, AMC’s Hell on Wheels and Audience Network’s Kingdom.
The likes of Russ Buchholz and Dwayne Shattuck have left Endemol Shine Studios this year, and Levy is expected to build her own scripted team, working with Hall in the interim.
Levy left Spike after restructuring at VIacom that will see the formerly male-skewed entertainment channel trasition into a new role as general entertainment cable channel Paramount Network in 2018.
Upcoming shows on the Endemol Shine Studios slate include a US remake of Kudos miniseries Utopia for premium cable channel HBO, though this hasn’t yet been greenlit.
Deadline first reported the news.
