Turner India & Amazon reach kids licensing deal

Turner India and Amazon Prime Video have paired to bring a range of Cartoon Network shows to the latter’s Indian SVOD service.

The content licensing deal will see Ben 10, Grim Adventures of Billy Mandy, Johnny Bravo (pictured), Powerpuff Girls, Dexter’s Laboratory and more play on Amazon Prime Video India under the ‘Kids and Family TV’ section.

Amazon said in a statement that kids today are consuming and engaging with their favourite content across diverse screens such as computers and mobile screens.

Turner has been at the forefront of providing engaging experiences to kids both on TV and beyond and the collaboration with Amazon Prime Video reaffirms Turner’s commitment to engage with its fans anytime, according to the statement.

Last month, Amazon confirmed that Amazon Prime Video India’s content head Nitesh Kripalani had decided to step down due to “personal reasons”.
