Will & Grace reboot heads to TVNZ

Scripted-logo-460_2Will-and-GraceThe upcoming reboot of US comedy Will & Grace is headed to New Zealand commercial channel TVNZ.

A deal with distributor NBCUniversal includes rights to the show, which last week was renewed for a second season before the first of the reprisal has gone out.

The show will play on TVNZ2 later this year, along with four other shows.

These include new season series A.P. Bio, a comedy set in a high school from Mike O’Brien and Seth Meyers; psychological murder mystery Seven Types of Ambuguity; virtual reality thriller Reverie; and Law & Order True Crme: Menendez Murders.

The shows launched internationally at the LA Screenings in May.

“We’re really impressed by NBCUniversal’s content slate this year and are proud to be bringing these new titles first and fast to Kiwi audiences,” said TVNZ director of content Cate Slater.

“There’s a lot of hype out there for these programmes already, and now, New Zealanders can be a part of the global conversation as they watch them on our channels or online at tvnz.co.nz.”

Launch dates are yet to be decided.
