Kutcher-backed Chicken Soup for the Soul launches IPO

Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment, a prodco that is backed by Ashton Kutcher’s company A Plus, has launched a public offering to raise US$30 million.

The US-based prodco and distributer is a provider of ‘positive video content’.

Chicken Soup has an exclusive distribution agreement with A Plus, a digital media company that is owned partly by Kutcher (23%) and partly by Chicken Soup for the Soul Digital (75%).

Chicken Soup says it can accelerate the growth of its video content offerings and develop and distribute short form videos and articles to a wide audience with this agreement.

The company has applied to list its shares on Nasdaq under the symbol CSSE. Its shares are now available online.
