Hulu snags eOne’s Cardinal and Gap Year

Scripted-logo-460_2CardinalHulu has inked a multi-series deal with Entertainment One and will take almost 250 hours of programming from the independent production and distribution group.

The agreement gives Hulu exclusive US steaming rights to eOne series including Cardinal, and comedy drama Gap Year.

The whole first season of Cardinal, which is on CTV in Canada, will launch on on-demand service Hulu on June 16.

CTV has already ordered second and third seasons of the show.

Gap Year, meanwhile, was on E4 in the UK and season one will be on Hulu from May 26.

Other series in the deal include Welcome to Sweden, The Dating Guy, Matador and Saving Hope.

Joey Sabella, head of US and Latin America, eOne Television, brokered the deal and said: “I’m thrilled to broaden our partnership to include Cardinal and Gap Year, two strong US premieres along with other quality series,” commented Sabella.

“Hulu is one of the leading premium streaming television services and we couldn’t be more proud to have struck this ambitious deal with them.”
