The commercial arm of the German pubcaster has also snagged Face to Face, the award-winning doc series.
Both shows come to ZDFE through a deal with French distributor Balanga.
Face to Face recently scooped the TV France International award for being the most sold French documentary series internationally, and ZDFE will now take it into German-speaking countries.
The 16x52mins show is a series of comparative portraits of two personalities or companies and an analysis of their rivalry.
Subjects have included Jobs vs Gates and Pepsi vs Coca.
Bon Appetit, meanwhile, follows French actor Depardieu as he travels through Europe on a culinary journey, visiting locations including Tuscany, Brittany, Scotland and Bavaria. It is coproduced by Arte, SBS, TV5 in Canada and Globo.
“We are delighted to start our collaboration with ZDF Enterprises, a company that is a leading force in delivering high-end factual programming in German-speaking territories and worldwide,” said Balanga president Christophe Bochnacki. “We hope this is the beginning of a long-term relationship said Bochnacki.
