The French pubcaster will air the show on its repositioned France 4 channel.
Pol-ka Producciones makes the series, following on from its success with Patito Feo, with the kids division of Federation Entertainment. Federation sells the show in Europe (and Televisa throughout the rest of the world), and struck the French deal.
The series debuts on the eltrece channel in Argentina this year before rolling out on Televisa’s linear nets and digital platform Blim. It follows a kind teenager who takes a group of homeless kids under her wing.
It will now hit French screens and France 4’s head of acquisitions, Tiphaine de Raguenel, said: “Divina and her friends offer our viewers a positive portrait of a modern, supportive and united family. These values to which France Télévisions aspires contribute to an aspirational story that will appeal resonate with kids and parents alike.”
“Our partnership with France Television is a cornerstone of our pan-European strategy, securing key channels one by one, while filling a needed gap in the market,” added David Michel, managing director of Federation Kids & Family.
The company recently shopped the series to Super! in Italy.
“Love Divina has a unique creative angle in that it is a drama that works for both tweens/teens and parents audiences, which is a hard genre to find right now,” Michel added.
