George upped at ITV America as Leftfield Ents brand retires

Leftfield Entertainment CEO David George has been named president of ITV America.David George

He takes the role at ITV America, the US unscripted arm of UK-listed broadcaster ITV, having been running Leftfield, the Pawn Stars prodco that ITV acquired in 2014 for an initial US$360 million. The Leftfield Entertainment moniker is now being dropped.

As president of ITV America, he will report to Leftfield founder Brent Montgomery, who is ITV America’s CEO.

George joined Leftfield in 2010 as an exec producer and rose through the ranks before being named president of the prodco in 2014.

In his new role he will oversee development and production across the group, with the exceptions of the DiGa, High Noon Entertainment and Thinkfactory labels, which will continue to report to Montgomery.

Other prodcos in the group include Loud TV, Outpost Entertainment, Sirens Media, Red Bandit Media, Big Energy and Kingdom Reign.

“To say that David George has been a key player in the evolution and growth of Leftfield – and now ITV America – is an understatement,” said Montgomery.

“He has helped move the company to its next iteration of content across nearly every genre, working especially creatively on innovative projects and deals with Amazon and Netflix, including our recently announced reimagining of the iconic Queer Eye.”

George added: “Leftfield and ITV have created a shop where the sky’s the limit, and if you want to take risks, work hard and think outside the box, it’s an amazing place for a producer, and for an executive.”

The Leftfield Entertainment brand, which was the umbrella name of the US super-indie group, will be scrapped, with Leftfield Pictures, the production company and brand remaining.

A new president of Leftfield Pictures will be announced soon, ITV said.
